We Love our Cats

My Cat family. Tim saw a great need to rescue feral cats at the plant where he works. He set friendly traps with yummy tuna fish. These traps where checked every day, total number was around 12 large cats trapped. We had two escape, and that was an adventure. yee haw!

My job was to transport the cats to and from the vet for surgery and vaccines.
Tim turned our storage building into a after surgery recovery house.  My husband loves to invent, so he installed a web cam, and a temperature controlled heater, water, food, and large litter pan.  Wouldn't you want to stay? well cats are escape artist.  Needless to say Here kitty kitty, lol.   the purpose to rehabilitate and release, the release came sooner for some. Lovey Whiskars, picture above is our blind kitty.  She is a tough cookie.

This is the rest of our cat herd, Lucy, Patch, Jesse, and Leo.  You would never know my kitties where hissers, spitters, slappers, bitters, and covered in ringworm  at first.  I had to use heavy duty gloves to handle them.  They are healthy, happy and so sweet.

Planting a new field

Wow, it's taken me a long time to find this spot.  The weeds grew into a vine and made a fence, lol.  The fence being me not using my site since last year.

There are so many things to see and follow, with that said I'll update.  My chores are calling my name out loud.  So I'm off to work.  I have many things to post so stay tuned.

Lily

Lily

Lily is my Min Pin. I rescued Lily from the Humane Shelter in Auburn. She stole my heart the first time I saw her. I thought it was fate that brought us together. Well, I soon realized Lily loved everyone and they also thought they where her favorite. She still has that ability to reel you in. This is the history on the "Red Dogs"
Lily adopted needed a trip to the vet. I got the call from my vet wanting to know what to do. What's wrong? I asked. Lily had also reeled in a date with another doggie. My innocent precious doggie was to be a mommy. My vet had discovered four little puppies hiding inside Lily. Can you imagine my surprise. Sorta like how I discovered I was having twins at 32, that's another story. Back to Lily. We saved the pups and Lily was and is a wonderful doggie mother. This is where Phoebe and Buster came to be. The two other pups where successfully adopted.

"Lily", my very first pastel painting, was a Christmas present several years ago for my husband Tim.

Daniel

Next week my son Daniel will graduate from Auburn University. Daniel is graduating with the new title of EE, electrical engineer.
We're so proud of him. My husband, Tim, also graduated from Auburn with an Electrical engineer degree in '78.

Our dogs travel with us also. Lily, Phoebe and Buster, affectionately known as the pups will be visiting grandma Wyllowdean also.

We stay with Wyllowdean, Tim's mom, on our trips home. I usually take off and go to my moms also.. We're planning on a junking trip saturday. Looking for treasure in someone's disguarded junk, lol. So much fun. My sister, Beverly will join us. This is a family tradition from way back. My mother holds a booth at the local J&G. Buying and selling, my mother is having a glorious time.

Getting ready for our trip, I'll be posting a tidbit later.

Roses from my Front yard Garden

Tim's Veggie garden. Tim is a beginner gardener. He started his garden in Feb. Covered with plastic while it was cold.
The lettuce is yummy..We should have squash soon.

Weeds in the Collard Patch

I planted too many things in my Collard Patch and the weeds took over. Weeds come along and take up valuable space when you're jumping around and can't find yourself. This last year has been full of many interesting things. Things that would make for interesting topics for my Collard Patch. I got lost on the journey and the weeds took over. My friend, Jane, told me to get crackin. Ok Jane, you're right. So here goes, I've decided that weeds need constant pulling , to cultivate a beautiful garden.

Yesterday was a terrible day for my Alabama home. My family was spared destruction of the deadly storms, thank you God, and my heart goes out to everyone that was not so fortunate. We have friends in Tuscaloosa, and not sure how they faired. I can remember when my boys where toddlers and a tornado came over our house. The tornado didn't touch down, but the hail destroyed my car. I am reminded that life is precious and every breath is wonderful.. Grateful that my life in SC is becoming a blessing and so glad to be here. With that said, let's move on to what I've been up to.

Following with my garden theme, I have to give you and update on the Collard Patch. My husband,Tim, has taken over the garden and I have taken on the landscaping of our yard. Tim is and engineer and has designed a watering system for the garden so waste is at a minimum. We decided that weeds need to be controlled with ground cover, and pine straw. I'll post some pics soon.

I'm still figuring how to use my blog, any ideas would be welcomed and so helpful. my goal is to have a beautiful and interesting blog. that's my begin over and my promise to me to be great blogger.
